Crobar.jpg
Crobar
The revamped Crobar has ditched its gritty warehouse-like finishes in favor of an open and airy South Beach feel, complete with a glass-encased VIP room. The swirling crowd on the dance floor, however, remains the club's real focal point. The floor is framed above by a balcony lined with booths that offer a great view of what's going on down below.
Stonelotus.jpg
Stonelotus
Hotshot New York designers outfitted the space with a 60-foot water wall, plus stone, bamboo and wenge wood accents. Upstairs, the long and narrow space fills up fast, and reservations at this high-end lounge are highly recommended for table service. Check out the downstairs bar, where banquette seating stretches in front of a wall of rocks and cherry blossom trees are always in bloom behind the bar.
Joes.jpg
Joe's Bar on Weed Street

Transit.jpg
Transit
This uber-cool, tri-level nightclub is located next to the PNC Bank building... In fact, the building that houses Transit was itself a bank once upon a time. The old vault has been converted into a billiards room; the mezzanine, meanwhile, holds several VIP areas, and folks willing to lay down serious coin can rent the VIP suite, which overlooks the main dance floor. Transit regularly features multiple DJs each night.
SpyBar.jpg
Spy Bar
The million-plus spent on updating the basement space evaporated into pricey-looking upholstered booths, fancy lighting, glass panels, crisper sound and a raised DJ nook.Offerings include creative, market-fresh cocktails and interesting champagne-truffle pairings. The soul of the place--the banging, late-night music--hasn't suffered; quality DJs spin regularly.
Enclave.jpg
En·clave
Erstwhile warehouse space never looked this classy, with gleaming wood floors, elegantly arranged sofa and cocktail table seating and a kitchen-sink art piece covering an entire wall in a colorful jumble of paint, wood pegs, stones and mosaic tile. Intimate lighting and sheer curtains tame the timber ceiling and iron beam hugeness--15,000 square feet on two floors.
Crescendo.jpg
Crescendo
Exotic retro-Moroccan complete with lanterns and mirrored columns. Crescendo in its second life specializes in bottle service and even liquor storage for regulars, so if you'd like to sit -- anywhere, in fact -- that's what you'll have to do.
Rino.jpg
RiNo
Soaring ceilings and thick wood pillars belie the smallish intimacy of this candlelit spot, decorated with antlers and hides for a raw, animal feel. The lounge has a relaxed vibe and includes lowbrow beer choices like Pabst and Schlitz in cans. The musical mix swings from the latest hip-hop to '80s flashback and dusties, revving up for the post-2am crowd.
BullBear.jpg
Bull & Bear
Deeming itself, “Chicago’s newest and most exclusive luxury sports bar,” Bull & Bear guests will kick back in comfortable circular banquettes and leather booths surrounded by an exposed brick, polished wood and a mirrored interior. The up-scale bar/grill features 42-inch plasma televisions throughout the venue where guests can watch the daily ticker and ESPN’s “Sports Center” simultaneously.
